Diary Entry 72

The weather is lovely today, here in Palo Alto, Calif. I took advantage of it to bike out to Menlo Park and back, and do some shopping along the way. It was so nice that halfway there I took off my jacket and put it in my backpack. Not needed.

First I stopped at a bike shop. I've had enough flat tires that I decided it was time to start changing tubes myself, so I bought two tubes. I also got a pair of gloves, for those cold night rides, and a compass, so that I don't get turned around so easily on my excursions.

The packaging on the compass is labeled ``Warning: Improper installation may result in serious accident and/or injury.'' I didn't realize before how deadly compasses could be.

Then I stopped at Fry's Electronics along Park Avenue and bought a 256 MB SO-DIMM for my laptop. 384 MB RAM here we come!

Finally I made it out to the San Antonio Shopping Center and stopped at Wal-Mart. I bought a warm blanket for my bed, because I've been cold the last few nights with only a sheet, and some hangers for my closet. By the way, is it just me, or does Wal-Mart always have more than its share of screaming, out-of-control children?

I'm going to go install the compass now, and enjoy the weather.
