Everything

My last diary entry was more than a month ago. It's been busy, busy,
busy the whole time. Now it's settled down a bit, so I'll summarize
what's gone on.
The big thing going on until yesterday was a paper for USENIX Security '03.
Tal and I wrote a paper about a new architecture for application
sandboxing we call a ``virtualizing sandbox.'' The original
submission deadline was January 27, but we got an extension until
February 3. I worked pretty intensely on the paper pretty much the
whole time since the beginning of January. We had to write the
software first, and then write the paper about the software, so doing
the whole thing in four weeks was a stretch, but we managed it.
What else? Here, have a list:
- Friday the 17th through Sunday the 19th I went to Las Vegas for
Dale's bachelor party. It was a blast, of course. We spent a lot of
time in Quark's Bar in the Las Vegas Hilton, we went to bars and
clubs, we even went go-karting and played mini-golf... and we did some
traditional bachelor's party activities, too.
- Sunday the 26th was Kate's Super Bowl party. There was a huge
amount of food—vegetarian chili, meat chili, chicken wings, chocolate
layer cake, brownies, tortilla chips, layered dip, cheese dip, salsa,
lots of beer, and other stuff I've forgotten by now. It was a good
time, even though the local team (Oakland, of course) lost.
- Last Saturday Kate and I went to the San Francisco Zoo. We got
there late, at 3 pm. It closes at 5 pm, so we did a whirlwind tour of
as much as we could. I liked the lemurs the best. They have a huge
area to roam. I forgot to bring Big K grape soda and Twinkies,
though.
- I'm sure more than that happened, but I can't really remember
anything else worth mentioning.
